Gray comments that: “The IT organization of the future is going to move in two directions,” says Patrick Gray, president of Prevoyance Group (www.prevoyancegroup.com). “On one hand, you’ll have the continuing trend towards building internal service organizations, which have an independent budget and independent management and are focused on a single group of commodity tasks. Functions like desktop support or network operations will be streamlined to provide their services in a hands-off manner at a low cost, or they will become candidates for outsourcing.”
